Each kit has three main parts; a body, underframe and roof,and some subsidiary ones.
The body is one piece and includes seats, door furniture, and end fixtures such as steps and alarm gear. The sides have vertical slots for window glazing, corridor connections are separate mouldings.
All the main components of the underframe are modelled with appropriate details on visible surfaces. These typically include axle guards, carrying springs and axleboxes on four or six-wheeled vehicles or queen posts and truss rods on bogie stock. All models have the appropriate brake cylinders, hangers and cross shafts, footboards and battery boxes or gas cylinders.
The roofs are made in one piece, and clip into the sides. Rain strips, vents, and lighting fixtures are moulded in place.
Bogies, sprung buffers, couplings, corridor connections and brake shoes are separate items, with the latter provided for both OO and EM/P4 gauges.
